Adani Green Commissions India’s First Wind-Solar Hybrid Plant in Rajasthan

Adani Hybrid Energy Jaisalmer One Limited (AHEJOL), which is a subsidiary of Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has commissioned a 390MW wind-solar hybrid power plant.

The plant will be developed in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, and will be the country’s first wind and solar hybrid power producing facility. It offers a reliable solution for rising power demand.

Vneet S Jaain, Managing Director and CEO of Adani Green Energy Limited, said, “Wind-Solar Hybrid energy is an important aspect of our business strategy which aims to meet India’s growing need for green energy.”

“This project is a part of the first construction facility by international banks in Adani Green. It is commendable that the project was successfully executed amidst the uncertainties imposed by the global pandemic,” he added.

According to the company, the plant has a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) with a tariff of 2.69 per kilowatt-hour (kWh), well below the national Average Power Procurement Cost (APPC), ensuring that everyone has access to affordable, modern, and clean energy.

Following the successful commissioning, AGEL currently has a 5.8 GW operational capacity. It has a total renewable portfolio of 20.4 GW, putting it on track to meet its 45 GW capacity goal by 2030.
