North Central Railways Generates

North Central Railways generated 38.4 lakh units of electricity using solar energy in the first quarter of FY 2022-23.

“Net revenue saving of ₹1.56 crore has been achieved through the usage of solar power in Q1,” informed Shivam Sharma, chief public relations officer (CPRO) of NCR.

In the last financial year, NCR realized a net saving revenue of 5.06 crores by generating around 124 lakh units of electricity through solar power. Moreover, the productivity of solar plants of NCR was the highest among all zonal railways in 2021-22. Measures such as excellent upkeep, close monitoring of solar plant operations, and other innovative steps under the Solar Mission 2021-22 heavily contributed to that development.

The organization further plans to install rooftop solar plants of 1.5 MWp capacity in the current financial year, according to Pramod Kumar, General Manager, NCR.
