The Maharashtra government signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) worth over ₹10,880 crore on February 7, 2026, to attract investments in solar, healthcare, and manufacturing projects in the Vidarbha region. The agreements were formalised at the Advantage Vidarbha – Khasdar Audyogik Mahotsav 2026 in Nagpur, in the presence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
The largest commitment — ₹10,080 crore — came from Galaxy Solar Energy, which will establish an integrated solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing plant in Nagpur, to be developed across three phases and completed by 2036. This facility is expected to become a key node for clean energy manufacturing and support the broader renewable supply chain in central India.
Alongside the solar project, the state also signed MoUs for other strategic investments, including a ₹200 crore tower manufacturing plant with GR Infraprojects and a ₹600 crore multi-speciality hospital project on Maha-Metro land near Nagpur. These combined deals are expected to generate thousands of jobs and reinforce Vidarbha’s position as an emerging industrial and clean energy hub.
Chief Minister Fadnavis highlighted that the state government will facilitate necessary approvals and fiscal incentives, helping to fast-track implementation. He also reaffirmed Maharashtra’s commitment to policy-led growth, with future plans to roll out updated industrial policies across sectors, including electronics, aerospace, and renewable energy.
