

NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has successfully commissioned a 150 MW solar power capacity in Rajasthan, marking another strong step in its ongoing renewable energy expansion strategy. The project is part of the company’s large-scale solar development program across key solar-rich regions of India, including Rajasthan’s high-irradiation zones such as Bhadla and Phalodi.
According to official disclosures, the newly commissioned capacity has been integrated into the grid after receiving necessary certification from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL). The project forms part of NGEL’s broader solar portfolio expansion, which is rapidly approaching multi-GW scale across India. The commissioning strengthens NTPC’s position as one of the fastest-growing renewable energy developers in the country, with continuous capacity additions across FY 2025–26.
The solar project utilizes utility-scale photovoltaic technology designed for high-efficiency generation under extreme desert conditions. While detailed module specifications have not been separately disclosed for this phase, NTPC’s large solar parks in Rajasthan typically deploy high-efficiency mono PERC or bifacial modules paired with advanced string inverter architecture to maximize yield. The Rajasthan solar cluster continues to be one of NTPC’s most important renewable hubs due to its superior solar irradiation and grid connectivity advantages.
With this addition, NGEL continues its aggressive renewable expansion roadmap, contributing to India’s broader clean energy transition goals.
