On November 17, 2025, Andhra Pradesh’s New and Renewable Energy Development Corporation (NREDCAP) revealed the 22 winning bidders of its 1.2 GW rooftop solar auction, conducted under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The auction, floated in July 2025, is a significant step in expanding rooftop solar infrastructure across residential communities in the state.

Kosol Energie led the pack, winning 291.54 MW, followed by Rotomag Enertec (139.53 MW), Sadbhav Futuretech (90 MW), Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals (77.4 MW), and Surya Cons (60.27 MW). Smaller-capacity winners include Brihaspathi Technologies (17.86 MW), Junna Solar Systems (16.18 MW), and Sunworks Energy (13.6 MW), among others.

Under the terms of the auction, the selected developers must install rooftop solar systems on residential buildings belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) households, using the Utility-Led Aggregator (ULA) model. The projects must be completed within six months, and developers are required to use domestic solar modules that meet local content requirements to qualify for central assistance.

The winning companies are also mandated to provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services for a period of five years, and ensure their solar modules come with a minimum 8-year product warranty, with at least 90% of peak output guaranteed after 10 years and 80% after 25 years. This ambitious auction is expected to accelerate solar adoption in Andhra Pradesh’s economically weaker segments, and reflects a strong push toward clean, decentralized power.
