• Andhra Pradesh Green Energy Corridor map layout with solar and pumped storage
• Graph showing scale: ₹28,033 crore investment, 11 GW solar, 7.37 GW storage

Andhra Pradesh has submitted a comprehensive ₹28,033 crore proposal for Green Energy Corridor Phase-3 to the Central Electricity Authority (CEA). The project aims to integrate 11 GW of solar power and 7,373 MW of pumped storage into the power grid, equipped with 8,862 circuit kilometres of transmission lines and 9,500 MVA of capacity to facilitate large-scale renewable energy evacuation and support India’s 2030 energy transition goals.

Currently, the state is implementing 69 ongoing transmission projects amounting to ₹8,638 crore, adding 14,046 MVA and 2,041 circuit km to its infrastructure. These efforts have already led to an improvement in transmission efficiency, with losses dropping from 2.69% to 2.60%, while non-tariff revenue surged to ₹174.47 crore, thanks in part to leasing of Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) fibers.

In addition to transmission upgrades, APGENCO’s major hydel and pumped storage projects are gaining momentum under this plan. Solar installations are also being bolstered under PM-KUSUM, covering 2.93 lakh agricultural pumps, while the PM Surya Ghar scheme has seen rooftop solar adopted in 39,863 homes, reflecting the state’s holistic green energy push
