Uttar Pradesh's Solar Capacity is continously expanding

India’s clean energy transition achieved a major milestone in Q3 2025 as it added approximately 30 GW of solar capacity, helping the country cross the 500 GW overall power capacity mark. This significant surge underscores the accelerating pace of solar deployment across states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.

The newly commissioned solar projects feature high-efficiency modules (typically 540–600 Wp class) and are expected to generate an additional ~45–50 billion kWh annually, further reducing reliance on fossil-fuel generation. Officials from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) noted that this boost in solar capacity will play a critical role in India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030.

Key states contributed heavily: Rajasthan added over 6 GW, Gujarat about 5.5 GW, and Maharashtra nearly 4 GW of new solar capacity during the quarter. The push is backed by decreasing equipment costs, improved project execution, and supportive policy frameworks. With this influx, India’s solar capacity has become a dominant pillar of its renewable energy mix, offering large-scale opportunities for PV system integrators and EPC players.

OrnateSolar is well-positioned to support this growth wave—offering turnkey solar solutions, system audits, and performance optimisation for utility-scale and rooftop solar projects.
