INOX Air Products (INOXAP), a leading producer of industrial and medical gas, commissioned a 21.3 MW captive solar plant in Bangarmau, Unnao. The project, built at a cost of ₹100 crores, will supply 3.1 crore units of clean energy to INOXAP’s facilities in Uttar Pradesh.
“INOXAP’s first dedicated solar power plant is also the largest investment made by the company in renewable energy,” said a company spokesperson.
The solar power plant will help the company offset 28,000 tons of CO2 annually for the next 25 years and marks a giant step towards INOXAP’s net zero goals.
In the past few years, multiple leading oil, gas, and petroleum producers have been setting up solar energy projects to expand their renewable energy portfolio. Earlier this year, Bharat Petroleum announced plans to Set Up 240 MW Solar and Wind Facilities this financial year. Moreover, in 2022, ONGC and Coal India revealed plans to develop 1 GW+ solar projects each in Rajasthan.
