Madhya Pradesh is set to develop an 800 MW solar park to enable a seasonal energy swap with Uttar Pradesh, alternating power supply every six months.
The project, consisting of four 200 MW units, will be jointly procured by MP Power Management Company and UP Power Corporation Limited.
In the first half of the financial year, Madhya Pradesh’s energy demand is lower while Uttar Pradesh’s is higher. In the second half, the pattern reverses, creating a complementary energy demand cycle.
“This will be a pure solar project but will be supplying energy to two states each for six months,” MP additional chief secretary of new and renewable energy, Manu Shrivastav, said during the pre-bid meeting.
The Investors were informed that the final bid documents will be released on May 9, the reverse auction will take place on June 23, and PPAs will be signed on July 14.
