In a significant push toward integrated renewable energy infrastructure, NTPC Green Energy Limited has invited bids for a 100 MW Solar And 200 MWh BESS Project In Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. The tender, announced on March 23, 2026, will be executed on behalf of NTPC UP Green Energy Limited and marks another major step in combining solar generation with energy storage for grid stability.
The project includes the development of a 100 MW ground-mounted solar PV plant integrated with a 50 MW / 200 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The bidding process will follow a domestic competitive route using a single-stage, two-envelope system along with a reverse auction mechanism. This hybrid structure is designed to ensure cost efficiency while enabling a reliable power supply, especially during peak demand hours.
The scope of work is comprehensive, covering site preparation, design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning. Developers will also need to deploy fixed-tilt mounting structures, build inverter rooms, establish EHV switchyards, and integrate advanced SCADA systems for monitoring and control. Such infrastructure ensures optimized plant performance and seamless grid integration, which is critical for large-scale renewable deployments.
Located in Jhansi, the project is expected to contribute significantly to Uttar Pradesh’s clean energy capacity while supporting India’s broader renewable energy and storage ambitions.
