PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana set to create jobs! The government plans to train 100,000 individuals in solar panel installation and maintenance to support its initiative of helping 10 million households transition to solar energy.

Launched in February’24, the scheme offers subsidies of up to Rs 78,000 for installing solar power-generating units.

A source mentioned, “The training capacity might expand as per demand.” REC Ltd, the nodal agency for the revamped rooftop solar program, is anticipated to collaborate with institutions like the National Power Training Institute and the National Skill Development Corporation for this endeavor.

An official stated that the government plans to train 50,000 vendors in entrepreneurship, expecting more registrations on the national rooftop solar portal rather than with distribution companies.

The renewable energy ministry has recently transitioned to a new portal and will soon initiate the national vendor registration process.

With a budget of Rs 75,021 crore, the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is implemented through the involvement of power distribution companies and vendors. It aims to provide streamlined subsidies and collateral-free loans for the implementation of solar power initiatives.
