Rajasthan is set to host the world’s largest solar park, with a planned generation capacity of 2,450 MW, marking another giant leap in India’s renewable energy ambitions. The massive project, being developed in Bikaner district, will play a vital role in India’s journey toward achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
According to government reports, the solar park will span over 11,000 acres, making it one of the most expansive renewable energy projects globally. Once operational, it is expected to generate over 6,000 million units of clean electricity annually, enough to power nearly 2 million households and offset 5 million tonnes of carbon emissions every year.
The project is being executed under the Solar Park Scheme of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in collaboration with Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL). It is designed to attract large-scale investments in solar generation and provide high-voltage evacuation infrastructure for seamless power transmission.
Rajasthan already leads India’s solar capacity with over 30 GW installed as of 2025, and this park will further cement its position as the renewable energy capital of the country. With world-class solar irradiation, vast land availability, and government-backed policies, the state continues to be a preferred destination for large-scale solar developers.
