

Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Madhya Pradesh to set up a 200 MW solar project in Dhar and a 1,000 MWh battery storage project in the state. The agreement was signed during the Global Investors Summit 2025, held in Bhopal on February 24-25.
The Global Investors Summit 2025 was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India, alongside Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. Sivakumar V Vepakomma, Director (Power Systems) SECI, and Manu Srivastava, Additional Chief Secretary (NRE), signed the MoU in the presence of Madhya Pradesh’s Minister of New & Renewable Energy, Rakesh Shukla, and SECI CMD, R P Gupta.
The 200 MW solar project is part of a 500 MW, 25-year agreement signed in 2023 between SECI and MP Power Management Company Limited to supply power to the state. SECI has also proposed a phased ₹2,500 crore investment to expand renewable energy in Madhya Pradesh.
The summit united key stakeholders from the Government of India, alongside state and international representatives, to drive investment and forge stronger partnerships in renewable energy.
