On September 30, 2025, state-owned SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL) commissioned 128.88 MW of solar capacity at its Bikaner solar project in Rajasthan. This brings the project’s cumulative commissioned capacity to 629.90 MW out of its 1,000 MW total plan. SJVN Green Energy aims to complete the remaining capacity in phases soon.
The Bikaner project is part of SJVN’s broader push into solar power and is expected to produce substantial clean energy annually. Though the Rediff report does not detail panel specs or annual generation, the scale of this addition signals strong confidence in India’s solar market. With the project now crossing the 629.90 MW mark, it is among the larger utility-scale solar installations in Rajasthan.
Officials from SJVN noted that commissioning this stage helps the company move closer to its goal of 1,000 MW solar capacity in Bikaner, while strengthening its position in India’s renewable energy sector. The addition also reinforces the government’s target of expanding clean energy capacity across states.
As more capacity comes online, OrnateSolar remains ready to support EPCs, developers, and commercial clients in selecting high-efficiency modules, inverters, and deployment strategies that maximize returns from such large-scale solar projects.
