Hindustan Salts has issued a request for proposals for a solar project with a capacity of 1 GW in Kharaghoda, Gujarat’s Surendranagar district.
The energy produced by the projects will be sold on the open market. Hindustan Salts will get a fixed annual fee for using the company’s resources, which include approximately 5,000 acres of land (considering a minimum of 4-5 acres per MW is required to set up solar projects). The winning bidder will be required to pay Hindustan Salts per acre per year for the use of the land.
For the 1 GW project in 2021, the corporation had requested expressions of interest. Hindustan Salts has chosen to accept online bids to build the project after receiving such a positive response.
The deadline for proposal submissions is May 30, 2022.
As an earnest money deposit, bidders shall submit an amount equal to 1.1 million dollars ($14,377). A security deposit of 125 million ($1.64 million) will be required from the winning bidder.
This procurement does not enable joint ventures or consortiums to participate.
The winning bidder should assume full responsibility for the entire civil, electrical, mechanical, and other associated works, including supply, transportation, storage, installation, testing, and commissioning of all equipment, plant, and machinery, including supply, transportation, storage, installation, testing, and commissioning of all equipment, plant, and machinery.
From the date of acceptance, the contract will be in effect for 25 years.
Bidders should have experience with solar project development and commissioning. They must have constructed and commissioned at least one grid-connected solar power plant at a single location with a capacity of at least 100 MW power evacuation at least six months before the bid opening date in the previous five years.
Bidders must have a minimum annual turnover of $10 billion ($130.7 million) for the preceding three financial years, as well as a positive net worth as of the previous financial year’s last day.
The winning bidder will be responsible for paying Hindustan Salts the price specified in the bidding document for the land. If the successful bidder fails to pay on time, a penalty of 0.1 percent per day of the performance security, up to a maximum of 10%, will be applied to the due amount.
