Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated the 32 MW solar power project at Pekhubela, in Una district, developed by Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL).
The project, covering 49 hectares, was completed for Rs 220 crore, with the foundation stone laid by the chief minister on December 2, 2023.
The CM projected that the project would generate 6.61 crore units of electricity annually, yielding Rs 19.17 crore in state revenue at Rs 2.90 per unit. It incorporates 82,656 solar modules and connects to the grid via the Rakkad-Tahliwal transmission line.
The state govt has set a target for the HPPCL to install 500 MW of solar power capacity,” he said, adding that to achieve this target. Currently, the corporation has allocated construction for three solar projects totaling 47 MW, with one already completed.
The govt. has invited tenders for seven additional solar projects with a combined capacity of 72 MW through the HPPCL.
