According to reliable sources, the Odisha government has invited its Renewable Energy Development Agency to come up with cost-effective incentive schemes to encourage the domestic usage of solar energy.
Mr. SC Mohapatra, The Chief Secretary of Odisha, has issued an order for the Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA), stating that such possibilities must be investigated to support green energy for domestic use, which will encourage more people to adopt green energy.
While doing a virtual meeting, Mr. Mohapatra urged officials to draft a strategy to promote the use of solar-powered agricultural equipment, water heaters, lights, and green-powered machinery.
According to reports, in this meeting, the summit explored how new solar technologies can be applied in various domestic small businesses such as cold storage, drinking water, millet processing, tailoring, and rope making, among others.
OREDA’s Chief Executive Officer Mr. Dhananjaya Swain said, “The agency has 4 lakh renewable energy installations till July and has been able to reduce the emission of more than 30 tones of carbon dioxide per year.“
OREDA (Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency) has completed 1,163 rooftop solar projects totaling 12.3 MW, as well as 2.44 lakh biogas plants.
OREDA (Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency) has also developed 13,219 solar-powered drinking water projects and distributed 1,687 irrigation pumps and 82,033 green lights, he added.
