SJVN Commissions 100 MW Raghanesda Solar Power Station in Gujarat

State-owned power giant, SJVN Limited, has commissioned its Raghanesda Solar Power Station in Gujarat. Located in the Banaskatha district, the project will generate 252 million units of energy in the first year and a cumulative 5,805 million units over 25 years.

The power generated at the Raghanesda Solar Power Station will be supplied to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) for 25 years.

The project was developed by SJVN Green Energy Limited, the renewable energy arm of SJVN, at a cost of ₹642 crore. The organization acquired the project through tariff-based competitive bidding conducted by GUVNL. The agreed-upon tariff for the generated energy is ₹2.64 per unit.

This is SJVN’s second solar project commissioned in the month, the first being the 50 MW Gujrai Solar Power Station in Uttar Pradesh.

Smt. Geeta Kapur, the Chairperson & Managing Director of SJVN, said that the commissioning of the company’s eleventh power project highlights SJVN’s dedication to enhancing the green energy landscape of the nation and further solidifying the company’s position as a major player in the energy sector.

With the addition of this new project, SJVN’s installed capacity has reached 2377 MW. Additionally, the organization is developing another 100 MW solar project at the cost of ₹550 crore in Gujarat.
