Micro-solar Grid

Micro-solar stocks can meet the growing energy demand in India

The micro-solar grid can be considered as a miniature of a large power plant. We can also say that micro solar grids work in the same way as national electricity grids. The only difference is that they provide power to a small group of very few consumers. While national grids supply electricity on a large scale.

Why does India need micro-solar grids?

Electricity is an essential part of human life, and it is also referred to as “Right to Life” in Article 21 of the Constitution of India (Madan Lal v. Right to Life under Article 21 of the State of Himachal Pradesh).

With the help of initiatives like Saubhagya and Ujjwala, India achieved the goal of almost universal electrification. This means that now every district and every village here is connected to the electricity grid. Now every village in the country has access to electricity. The country worked very hard to achieve that.

Although the country claims that there is the availability of electricity at every person and place, the reliability of these claims and the quality of the power supply are still under question. According to the report’s figures, more than 300 million people still do not have access to electricity at their homes and their workplace. Millions of people still do not have a reliable and quality supply of electricity.

When we look at the quality of electricity, we find that sometimes the input voltage of electricity is less than 90 volts. Our devices are designed to run at 220–230 volts. This can cause serious damage to very low voltage (90 volts) devices, and also reaches them.

The infrastructure of the national grid transmission line is also a matter of concern. The cost of installing the transmission line is very high.

Apart from the power generation and transmission side, increasing demand for electricity is also a big topic of discussion. Most appliances used by India are highly inefficient in terms of power consumption. The ratio of power output to electricity consumption is not constant.

Benefits of Micro-Solar Grid:

  • As we already know that there is a difference between electricity generation and demand. In that scenario, these micro solar grids can eliminate this gap by providing power solutions to the community.
  • Also, these micro-solar grids will help the national grid to function for a longer period. Because the community-consuming power from these micro-solar grids will no longer depend on the national grid, which will reduce the load on the national grid. Which will help in providing better output.
  • The best part of these micro solar grids is that they are developed as per the requirements of the customers. Their power generating capacity can vary from 10 kW to 100 kW and this compatibility makes it more efficient.
