Solar Charge Controller with Wire Analysis & Features
In the previous blog, we learned about all the information related to the solar inverter. In this section of the blog, we will get to know about the Solar Charge Controller and will also discuss the wire and solar combiner box.
Let us now know in detail what is the solar charge controller?
Solar Charge Controller
as its name suggests, controls overcharging. Most solar panels are 12 volts, giving an output of about 16 to 20 volts, the solar charge controller protects the battery from overcharging by controlling the current and voltage from the solar panel between 14 and 14.5 volts. With the help of a solar charger controller, the battery’s life and efficiency can be increased. There are two types of solar charge controllers
- MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking)
- PWM (Pulse Width Modulation)
MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking):
The MPPT Charge Controller charges the battery by extracting the maximum power from the panel. The efficiency of these charge controllers is more than about 90 – 93%. This means the charge controller uses more than 90 – 93 watts to charge the battery from a 100-watt panel.
MPPT charger controllers are used in solar solutions where the power requirement is 2KW or more than that.
PWM (Pulse Width Modulation):
The PWM charge controller charges the battery using the power generated from the panel. The efficiency of these charge controllers is about 70%. This means that this charge controller can use only about 70 watts to charge the battery from a 100-watt panel. PWM charger controllers used in smaller solar solutions.
wire and solar combiner box
Solar wires are different from normal wires, & these wires made to be UV resistant and weather resistant. They can also be used within large temperature ranges. The function of a solar combiner box is to bring together the output of several solar wires.
Now, as we learned about the Charge Controller in this blog, in our next blog, we will learn about the solar battery.

I completely agree that the solar charge controller prevents overcharging of the batteries by regulating the current and voltage from the solar panel between 14 and 14.5 volts. The majority of solar panels are 12 volts, generating an output of about 16 to 20 volts. You said that the battery’s life and efficiency may be improved with the aid of a solar charger controller. Solar charge controllers come in two different varieties. This has just persuaded me to invest in a solar battery charger for this summer’s camping trips with my pals. I think that this battery charger will be able to meet our trip’s electrical demands.
