Rajasthan aims to achieve 90 GW of renewable energy capacity by the fiscal year 2029-30, with a significant portion to be contributed by solar and wind power, Jiwesh Nandan, a Notable Fellow at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), said.
At an industry meeting in Jaipur, Nandan outlined the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Policy 2023, aiming for 60 GW of renewable energy by 2030, equally from solar and wind.
Jiwesh Nandan highlighted the role of consumers in driving companies towards sustainability, reflecting changing values and economics favoring resource efficiency and clean energy.
Nandan also discussed integrating solar energy into Rajasthan commercial and industrial sectors, shifting agricultural demand to daytime hours, and using electric vehicle loads to reduce reliance on grid-scale batteries.
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) is leading the initiative to integrate RE into India’s broader energy and industry transition strategies.
