Both solar towns of Bihar will start getting solar energy through the first-of-its-kind renewable energy project from 2023.
As per the state government plan, if everything goes well, Bihar is the first state to have two green energy-efficient towns in Rajgir and Bodh Gaya. These solar towns will be working from 2023 & start giving renewable energy.
After Rajgir and Bodh Gaya, it will now cater to the green energy being developed in Patna with the help of Solar Power Corporation, including several important government offices, including the Governor’s House, Patna High Court, Bihar Museum, and Vidyut Bhawan. The state government will install the plant on Lakhisarai and Bhagalpur district’s land for this project.
Mr. Sanjeev Hans Bihar’s secretary of energy said 500-megawatt solar energy plants will be set up at Lakhisarai and Bhagalpur. The Solar Energy Corporation of India has agreed to provide green energy and develop the system. The project will get started by June 2023.
Further, He said that the excess solar energy generated through the proposed plants will also be used to run the turbines for water supply and other power-driven works.
