The Goa state government has given the green light for the installation of 30MW rooftop solar PV plants across over 300 government buildings.

This ambitious project aims to revolutionize the state’s energy landscape, generating over 4.5 crore units of clean electricity.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has directed all state governments to install rooftop solar PV plants on government buildings.

During the Chief Secretaries Conference, it was made compulsory for state governments to implement this initiative.

The Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) conducted an assessment study and prepared a detailed project report (DPR) for the installation of rooftop solar PV plants on government buildings.

The GEDA has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with MahaPreit, a Maharashtra government undertaking, to execute renewable energy projects in Goa.
