Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the India Energy Week (IEW) 2023 in Bengaluru on Monday, 6th February. Held from 6th to 8th February, IEW will host over 30,000 energy professionals, 1000+ exhibitors and over 500 global leaders from the energy sector.
IEW is organized by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and is the first major gathering under the country’s G20 presidency. According to the PMO office, participants from the traditional and non-traditional energy industries, members of governments, and academia will come together to discuss opportunities and challenges presented by a global energy transition at the event.
During the event, the prime minister will not only interact with the oil and gas CEOs but also launch multiple initiatives in the green energy realm. Here are some of the notable projects:
- Solar Cooking System
Indian Oil had previously launched the single cooktop model which was well-received in the market. To offer more flexibility to consumers, the organization has now developed an upgraded version of the same. The patented system works on both solar and auxiliary energy sources.
As per the organization’s statement, if the system reaches 30 million households by 2025-26, then it will lead to LPG cost savings of about ₹1 lakh crore and reduce CO2 emissions by 50 million tonnes.
- ‘Unbottled’ Initiative
The organization is aiming to meet the uniform requirements for customer attendants at Oil marketing companies, non-combat members of the Army, etc.
- E20 Fuel
- Green Rally
Apart from these, the foundation stones of two Jal Jeevan Mission Projects will be laid at Tiptur city and Chikkanayakanahalli town of Karnataka. The projects will improve access to clean drinking water for the people in the regions.
