Under Rajasthan Land Revenue Rules-2007, the Rajasthan cabinet under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has allotted a government land measuring 2,397.54 hectares in Bandha village of Jaisalmer district to Adani Renewable Energy Holding Four Limited to set up a 1GWp solar power project.
The project will generate employment & increase the revenue earning of Rajasthan. So far, the state has installed a capacity of around 13GWp of solar energy, and it’s targeting to generate 30GW by 2024-25 under Solar Energy Policy 2019. To achieve this, the current government has allotted around 16,000 hectares of land for setting up solar and wind energy plants.
With this latest project, Adani now has 6,897 hectares of land for solar projects in Rajasthan. The company plans to invest Rs 25,000 crore (US$ 3.7 billion) in the state’s renewable energy sector over the next five years.
